The flowers on apple trees are special – like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. You know something good is going to happen when the fruit begins to grow large enough to pick and eat. We planted gala and Fuji in their dwarf form.
To me “Dwarf” means the apples will be so heavy when the tree is growing that the branches will have to be supported. But in time the branches will be strong enough to support the apples and I will be delighted to pick one off and eat it on the spot.
I can’t begin to tell you how many photographs I have taken of the blossoms on these dwarf apple trees.
